Book Orange brings sustainable fashion to the Central West
Book Orange will unite the women of the region with our Pre-Loved Market Day to be held Sunday September 18 at the South Court area of the Civic Precinct on Byng Street – near Groundstone, the Orange Civic Theatre, and Orange Regional Museum.
Ladies are invited to clear out and renew their wardrobes (and their children’s wardrobes!) for the Spring and Summer season by swapping or selling their pre-loved fashion and accessories.
Our Pre-Loved Market Day is an event that will bring together women from all walks of life to share their love of fashion, sustainably. Book Orange is helping Orange and surrounding regions do something to counteract this trend by inviting women from all backgrounds, ages, shapes and sizes to participate in the Pre-Loved Market Day.
According to Inside Waste, each Australian contributes an average of 23kg of textiles to landfill each year with substantial environmental impacts. Book Orange is helping Orange and surrounding regions do something to counteract this trend by inviting women from all backgrounds, ages, shapes and sizes to participate in the Pre-Loved Market Day.
Tickets are essential to monitor crowd numbers and maintain COVID safe practices. Tickets will be released over the coming months so stay tuned on socials for the latest updates.
Stall holders can claim a place by email or phone. An individual stall holder fee is $70 (conditions apply). Stall holders will be able to participate in a swap meet with other stall holders prior to the market opening to the public. Registration will open over the coming months.
Book Orange will be raising funds for The Orchard managed by Housing Plus on the day. Housing Plus is committed to ensuring women and children experiencing domestic and family violence in Orange have access to accommodation and support to help keep them safe in their community.
Sparkling wine, vendors with coffee and food, plus free live music will be available on the day to build a positive social atmosphere. The event has a wet weather contingency plan and in the event of bad weather will be moved to the Agricultural Pavilion, Orange Showground.
